Why developers use Benchmarq MCP

Integrate AI search readiness directly into the environments where you write code, design schemas, and automate builds.

In your IDE (Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf)

Inspect failed structured data or crawler checks alongside your templates. Edit your JSON-LD or routing logic, trigger an immediate re-scan, and verify the score fix without context switching.

In conversational AI assistants

Ask questions in natural language: 'What technical blockers cost our pricing page the most points?' or 'How does our AEO score compare to competitor X after our latest release?'

In CI/CD & autonomous agent pipelines

Equip autonomous agents with deterministic readiness checks to validate staging deployments and flag AI search regressions before code reaches production.

What tools does the MCP server provide?

Ten deterministic tools covering score inspection, root-cause diagnostics, competitor gaps, and audit execution.

Terminal and assistant conversation displaying AI readiness scores by track via MCP
Assistant output listing high-impact technical issues and recommended code fixes
Assistant interface comparing domain scores against competitor benchmarks
Assistant triggering a new page audit via Benchmarq MCP tool call
Assistant reporting live diagnostic pipeline progress and completion

Supported clients and environments

Compatible with any IDE, client application, or agent framework that supports the remote MCP specification.

Coding agents & CLIs

AI assistants

Website & app builders

Works with any client that can connect to a remote MCP server. See your tool's documentation for setup.

How to connect in four steps

Register your domain in the web workspace, configure the remote MCP endpoint in your tool, and authenticate.

Setup steps

  1. Open the MCP or connector settings in your preferred IDE or assistant.
  2. Add a new remote MCP server pointing to https://mcp.benchmarq.io/mcp.
  3. Authenticate with your Benchmarq account credentials when prompted.
  4. Start querying readiness scores or triggering audit scans using natural language.

Prerequisites

  • Create a free Benchmarq account and add the domain you plan to audit in the web workspace.
  • Configure competitor domains in the web workspace if you plan to query competitive benchmarks via MCP.

Example developer prompts

Ask your assistant in plain developer language. The model invokes the appropriate MCP diagnostic tools automatically.

Audit & score inspection

  • What is our latest AI readiness score for /pricing, and how is it split across GEO, AIO, AEO, and CORE?
  • Show the score trend for our primary domain across the last 5 scans.

Remediation & diagnostics

  • List the highest-severity failed checks on this URL and provide the code-level remediation steps.
  • Check if our domain has site-wide crawler access blockers or missing llms-full.txt files.

Competitor gaps & live re-scans

  • Compare our AEO track score with competitor X and rank the technical gaps by impact.
  • Trigger a re-scan of this page and notify me with the updated score once complete.

Questions.

Direct answers about Benchmarq MCP.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants call tools and read data from other services. Benchmarq runs a remote MCP server, so a compatible assistant can use your Benchmarq results directly.

Which assistants work with Benchmarq MCP?

Any client that supports remote MCP servers can connect with the server URL. Support for adding remote servers differs per assistant, so check the connector settings of the one you use.

Can my AI assistant scan any website?

No. It can start scans only for domains you already track in Benchmarq, and each scan uses one scan credit.

Can an AI assistant change my account or delete data through MCP?

No. The 10 tools read results and start page scans. Adding domains and linking competitors happen in the web app. See the web app.

Do I need a paid plan to use Benchmarq MCP?

Reading scores, history and issues for your tracked domains works with an account. Competitor tools need the Premium plan, and the detailed issue lists need the full-report entitlement. See pricing.
